2019 Summer Production of Much Ado About Nothing

The Hudson River Shakespeare Company will present its summer production of Much Ado About Nothing with evening performances on July 19 and 20 at 8 pm and matinees July 20 and 21 at 2 pm at the Strand Theater, Main Street, Hudson Falls.

Much Ado About Nothing was the romantic comedy of its day. During a week's sojourn at the estate of nobleman, Leonato, Count Claudio and Leonato's daughter, Hero, fall in love at first site. Meanwhile, Leonato's niece, Beatrice, and Claudio's friend, Benedick, trade verbal barbs in a futile effort to deny their love. Complications ensue through the machinations of the villainous traitor, Don John. The cast includes Gustav Bremer and Laney Theiss as the young lovers, Hero and Claudio, and Victoria Hafner and Brandon Uhe as the battling Beatrice and Benedick. Dave Lundgren as Leonato, Jen Madison as his sister, Antonia, and Jacob Crowd as Don Pedro do their best to keep the peace while comic relief is provided by Mick O'Dalaigh, Emily Austin, Catherine Peck, and Lauren Whiting as members of the watch. Original music by Bruce VanGuilder and Judi Gross plays throughout. Andy Daly directs.
